James Bell is a London-based queer film producer and multidisciplinary artist. He produced the award-winning short film Birthday Boy, one of Channel 4’s highest-streamed short films, now available on GagaOOLala and OutTV.

His work has screened at BAFTA-qualifying and international film festivals including the Iris Prize Film Festival, where Birthday Boy won the Audience Award. James is committed to supporting underrepresented voices in film and contemporary art.

Alongside film, James’s visual art practice spans abstract painting, conceptual work and mixed media. His work has been exhibited internationally, including in Venice, and often explores identity, humour and emotional intensity.
