LUXURY ASPARAGUS (2015–) explores the concept of luxury through the lens of materiality, class, and impermanence. Real asparagus, coated in silver or gold, is transformed into an object of seeming opulence, yet its inevitable decay highlights the fragility of wealth and the transient nature of status. The work plays with the tension between permanence and impermanence, drawing on the tradition of vanitas still life, where decaying objects remind us of the fleeting nature of life and material wealth.

In 2018, as part of Cultivate Columbia Road, the series expanded to include LUXURY CAKE and LUXURY SANDWICH, further exploring the role of food in the performance of luxury and consumption.

A miniature version of Luxury Asparagus was exhibited—and sold—in Miniscule (2019), a show curated by Vanya Balogh during the Venice Biennale. The exhibition was featured online in Forbes, positioning the work within wider conversations about class, wealth, and the allure of luxury.
